A Walk to the End of the Earth
"God’s name is YHWH, I AM, sometimes translated I AM WHO AM. In my mind, the “I am” of human beings, made in the image and likeness of God, is found in I AM, God himself. “Who am I?” is answered by I AM WHO AM."
Years before I walked El Camino de Santiago, I was sitting in my rectory meditating on this theological idea of mine. I started drawing on a piece of paper, trying to turn the thought into an artistic expression. After trying a couple things, I drew the words in a circle: Perfect! In the circle, which is a sign of God, the question and the answer are one and the same.

Working with two other people trying to design a ProLife T-Shirt, we copied a image of a sonogram, and when the images overlapped, layers of colors appeared. I was convinced that we have a great image, but not the others. I showed the image to many different people and received overwhelmingly positive feedback. The image was less clear than the one above. Some people recognized it as a baby in the womb. Other people thought it was an image of the earth. One person thought it was an image of the universe, which is theologically perfect, since when Mary carried Jesus in the womb, she carried the heavens and the Earth.
